1559 Elizabeth Tudor is crowned queen of England in Westminster Abbey. She ascended in November 1558
1863 Thomas Crapper pioneers the one-piece pedestal flushing toilet.
1906 the first radio set advertised (Telimco for $7.50 in Scientific American) claimed to receive signals up to one mile
1943 Sophie Taeuber-Arp died she was a Swiss artist. Part of the Dada movement. She can be seen on the 50 swiss bank notes
