Not Bush bashing but keeping the record straight.
3/23/2009 - Jackie Reed

The head of the Center for Security Policy Frank Gaffney was recently on MSNBC’s Hardball, defending the previous administration and our involvement in Iraq . It now appears that Saddam Hussein was not only behind the World Trade Center bombing of 1993 but also the Oklahoma bombing in 1997. Considering that Saddam was being helped by this country in the war against Iran until 1988, he was quick to change allegiances. A couple days earlier Ari Fleisher former Press secretary of President Bush had been interviewed by Chris Mathews on his  Hardball Political program. There is a real attempt to re-write history  (8 years of spin) which needs to addressed.

Here’ part of the transcript via Crooks and Liars.

MATTHEWS: The polling that took place before we attacked, conducted by “Time” and CNN, showed that 72 percent of the American people, nearly three quarters, believed it was likely that Saddam Hussein was involved in the attack on us 9/11. How do you think they got that idea, that somehow going to war with Iraq was getting even for 9/11?

GAFFNEY: Well, as I said, he kept saying that he was going to try to get even against us for Desert Storm, so it wouldn‘t be unreasonable for people to conclude maybe that that‘s what he was doing. There‘s also circumstantial evidence, not proven by any means, but nonetheless some pretty compelling circumstantial evidence of Saddam Hussein‘s Iraq being involved with the people who perpetrated both the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center and even the Oklahoma City bombing.

So Tim McVeigh (Executed) and Terry Nichols (life in prison) were secret Iraqi agents. It keeps getting more bizarre. Seemingly Terry Nichols won’t give up his contacts to get a corner  view of the Prison yard.  Or as it was put on The Political Animal blog

Is there nothing these guys can say that would force them from polite company? How crazy need one be before they're no longer invited back onto national television to share their ridiculous ideas?

Speaking of which Crown Publishers recently agreed to sign George to a book about his presidency.  Oh, I can't wait for him to go on the book interview circuit (aside from Fox) Let's go to the Videotape...

And the questions and concepts continue - the finger pointing, the ranting and raving. All I can pray is that we become wise enough and strong enough that THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN...ever.

Unbelievable, literally. Those of us who came of age during the Viet Nam War also said,"This will not happen again...ever." However, when the Iraq War started, I had a son who was coming of age. I asked myself about what it would take for me to be willing to sacrifice him to that. The only scenario that I could think of important enough for that was if the future of the world/humankind was at stake. And what were the allegations against Iraq? That they were readying themselves for nuclear war. I remember thinking specifically that they had better not be lying to us. How can we ever know?

Most of the media fell down on the job. 9/11 put Bush into a position where he could carry out his agenda. Aside, from Oil flowing cheaply and getting back at Saddam for once trying to have his father killed, we still don't know for sure. He still has his version of history which should be called denial when his book comes out.
