Alright. I can hear the guffaws and see the eyes rolling from here. I like Facebook. It's a lot of fun to be able to keep in touch with people from all over the world--not that I do. I do keep up with my friends from all over the country and enjoy photos of my family. . . . .

Posted 9/8/2010 - Christy Steiger | 3 comment(s)
I didn't want to sign up for social security benefits at 62, but I'm only working part time. I have to take my social security now because it's the only way I'll be able to buy a cheaper home. The problem isn't that I'm broke -- I actually have teacher's retirement and a severance package. . . . .

Sometimes we forget midst all the hot dogs, hamburgs, family get togethers, and camping that we are really honoring the workers in our country for their dedication and skills.

Labor Day

It's Labor Day. The unofficial start of Fall. The apex of my annual angst. My soul still longs to live according to the 4-season calendar, despite having lived in a 2-season environ for 21 years. Here in Florida our 2 seasons are overwhelmingly-swelteringly-swelteringly-hot, and not-so-hot. . . . .
